Music Monday: Green Day making the past the present

Green Day took fans back to 1994 at this years Reading and Leeds festivals performing their breakout album, ‘Dookie’ in full.

Billie Joe Armstrong and co. stormed the stage and performed for over three hours with new songs mixed in with the old; but with the 20th anniversary of ‘Dookie’ coming it up it seemed fitting for the Californian trio to pay homage to the album that launched their careers and inspired further pop-punk acts.

Standing at the barrier for the entire set BBC coverage does not do the performance justice but I can assure you it’s not only Green Day who were having the time of their lives.
