How is it July 16th?! My time in Berlin is flying and this is a misery-educing fact. Life here only gets busier and as I write this blog post I’m supposed to be editing articles and writing reviews. So instead of boring you with another book-worthy essay about this wonderful city, this week I will bring you a snap-happy insight into Berlin week 2.
I’ve scouted vintage shops, record-stores-come-clubs, and restaurants to eat Octopus Burgers; I’ve discovered pay by donation wineries and danced in a kitschy old ball house.
I entered a writing competition in which I described my most loved festival experience (wahey for Rockness) to be in with a chance to win tickets to the incredible Feel Festival here in Berlin – and I won! This resulted in, over the weekend, stuffing my face with falafel whilst dancing on the beach of a lake, sipping strawberry daquiris and listening to incredible music on stages hidden in secret forest locations.
But despite being unwilling to leave the stunningness of the festival, I didn’t get the Monday blues. After munching vietnamese grilled pork with rice, seaweed salad and ginger (droooooooool) and being brave enough to get my hair trimmed in a German salon, I – armed with a kilogram of exquisite strawberries – explored an abandoned airport and pretended to be an aeroplane… much to the locals dismay.
I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. And I hope they make you jealous. (Sorry, but it’s true).
