PRESTWICK: Security fears in the air meant that a plane travelling to New York from Cairo was redirected to Prestwick airport. It has been revealed since that five of the passengers are still in the UK and are seeking asylum.

HONOURS: Baldrick and Blackadder are among those on the Queen’s birthday honours list. Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson were joined on the list by Adele. Also on the diverse list is Steven House, Scotland’s Police Chief and ‘Kick Ass’ writer Mark Millar.

The terrible weather didn’t manage to put off the fans as The Stone Roses played to a crowd of around 50000 at Glasgow Green, 23 years after their last gig there.
