The 20 November 2009 was a dark day for many music fans; another band called it a day and decided to go their separate ways.
But it has finally happened four years later: FALL OUT BOY ARE BACK!
And they are oh so good.
This morning (10:11) their latest release Save Rock and Roll, the first since 2008s Folie à Deux and the announcement of their 2009 ‘indefinite hiatus’, started streaming on the bands official website.
The album features a mix of classic old school Fall Out Boy, new Fall Out Boy and definitely more than enough ‘Fall Out Boy are back better than ever’ moments; and tracks with Courtney Love, Big Sean and even some guy called Elton John.
It was first announced that the Illinois four piece were not only back together, ready to tour and had a completed album on February 4 2013, along with the gut wrenching powerful ‘My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark’.
Save Rock and Roll is an eleven track masterpiece.
Both singles feature on the album, including latest power rock offering ‘The Phoenix’, alongside ‘The Mighty Fall’ and ‘Death Valley’ that beg to be played on repeat.
Fall Out Boy have returned polished, slicker and true masters of their craft.
Each song is faultless and Patrick Stump’s voice carries every melody and note straight to the heart of the listener sealing the deal of a faultless album
The best song on the album by far, in my humble opinion, is ‘Rat A Tat’ which features the grunge wonder and utter legend that is Ms Courtney Love.
Now I urge you all to do as the pop-punkers say and: “Put on your headphones, turn it up – this is what we spent the last year and a half making.”
